Asus S Eee Pc T91 Convertible Tablet Review
June, 2009. Asus reveals to the world one of the most confusing things at that time: it looked like a netbook, but with a flick of the wrist you could convert it to a tablet PC. Quite genius: the Asus EEE PC T91.

This computer is one of the founders of the tablet/netbook generation. With an 8.9” display this one is quite an impressive little camper. It is design to be easier for us, the consumers, to carry around our work. First of all, it is extremely light: it weight about 0.94 kg.
It features an Intel Atom Z520 processor, which was not state of the art even back then, but Asus cleverly sacrificed some performance in order to make battery life longer offering users an average of about 5 hours autonomy. On the same note, Asus uses its Super Hybrid Engine that allows the user to easily switch between presets to adjust power consumption.
An interesting thing is the hybrid storage, which means that it has a solid state drive, and also a SD card. Both are 16GB in size. One more thing: for the first 18 months, Asus offered you a complimentary EEE Storage Service, with 20GB space.

It comes with Windows XP pre-installed and also have a custom interface for when you use the touchscreen, with larger, easier to press icons for applications such as Internet Explorer or Notepad. It also has a photo editor and organizer which is quite fun to use thanks to its rotate and shuffle features. You can also use this custom interface to write memos, or, in combination with the stylus, you can sketch a portrait of that pretty girl on the bench.
Flipping the display you can use it as a tablet and you can also change the screen orientation by simply pressing a button, making it easier to read e-books and stuff.
I guess that this device is one that started the fusion between netbooks and tablets. And, as always, Asus outdid itself at the time in the field of mini laptops. You can also find more photos and a more in-depth review here.
